Nebraska Arts Council: "We're Not Square"

OMAHA, NE--In an effort to distinguish itself from its neighbors, the Nebraska Arts Council has unveiled its "We're Not Square" campaign. The campaign--designed to lure professional artists from more rectangular adjacent states like Kansas, Wyoming and South Dakota--emphasizes Nebraska's thriving avant garde scene in its "Western Notch" region.

"We think Nebraska is particular suited among the central plains states to encourage artistic innovation," stated NAC Chair Frederick Simon. "We believe this is so by virtue of Nebraska's interesting shape."

According to inside sources, the NAC is beginning the advertising and direct mail components of the "We're Not Square" campaign earlier than scheduled in order to beat out Colorado's "Hip To Be Square" campaign, scheduled for release on Huey Lewis' birthday on July 5th, 2005.
