Local Man Elicits Laughs By Mispronouncing "Nefertiti"

by christopher taylor

SITKA, AK--Soil scientist and anti-poet Robert Frost took a stab at humorism in "The Watering Hole" eating establishment yesterday by intentionally mispronouncing ancient Egyptian queen Nefertiti's name.

"He was talking about mummies and pyramids and shit, and then he said he bets Nefertiti had some big breasts," explained bar fly Ezra Pound. "Only he mispronounced the first 'I' short. We all got a good laugh at Amenhotep IV's expense. Which we figured was okay, him being dead for a few millennia now."

Frost went on to mispronounce Italian dictator Mussolini's name in an extended joke centered on large antlered animals. It was less well received.
